The APC UNO 24V 40W Standalone Solar Kit is a complete off-grid power solution designed for compatible 24V gate automation systems. It allows sliding or swing gate motors to operate in locations where mains power is unavailable or impractical, making it ideal for rural properties, long driveways, remote entrances and new installations where trenching power to the gate would be difficult or expensive.

The system uses a 40W solar panel to recharge two 17Ah batteries wired in series to provide a 24V supply, while the APC Sun Power 12V/24V 10A PWM regulator manages charging and power delivery to the gate automation system. The batteries and regulator are housed inside the large APC UNO enclosure, providing a neat and protected installation.

The UNO enclosure is designed specifically for outdoor gate automation applications, with dedicated cable-management points and a secure mounting system. Both the solar enclosure and solar panel are suitable for outdoor exposure, and the system can be mounted to suitable posts, walls or piers depending on the installation.

The 40W solar panel provides a practical balance between charging capacity and panel size, making the kit suitable for a wide variety of everyday gate installations. Correct solar-panel positioning is important, with the panel requiring good access to direct sunlight throughout the day to maintain battery charge. Shaded locations, high gate usage and continuously powered accessories can increase power demand and may require additional solar or battery capacity.

For best performance, the solar panel should be installed in a position with strong, unobstructed sunlight. High gate usage, shaded installations or power-hungry accessories may require an upgraded solar configuration to maintain reliable battery charging.
