BFT Sliding Gate Motor Ares ULTRA BT A1000

The BFT Ares Ultra BT A1000 is a powerful and heavy-duty sliding gate operator designed for residential, commercial and high-use sliding gates weighing up to 1000kg. Powered by a 24V DC motor, it delivers strong, smooth and dependable operation with a maximum gate speed of approximately 9 metres per minute.

Designed for intensive use and heavier gate applications, the Ares Ultra BT A1000 combines BFT's D-Track dynamic force-control technology with magnetic limit switches, opening and closing slowdown and the advanced MERAK control unit. It is an excellent choice for larger residential gates, commercial properties, unit complexes, warehouses and other applications requiring reliable and frequent automatic gate operation.

The Ares Ultra BT A1000 is designed to automate sliding gates with a maximum weight of 1000kg. When selecting a gate motor, gate weight should not be considered on its own. The condition of the track and wheels, gate length, slope, wind loading, frequency of use and how freely the gate travels can all affect motor performance. The gate should always move smoothly and freely by hand before automation is installed.

Wind Loads & Weight

The 1000kg rating is a maximum gate-weight specification and does not automatically mean every 1000kg gate is suitable for this operator. Long gates, gates exposed to high wind loads, gates travelling uphill, poorly maintained gates or gates that require excessive force to move may require a larger operator. Always consider the complete gate system and site conditions when selecting the correct motor.

Understanding wind loads is essential when selecting and installing a gate system, particularly for large, solid or enclosed gates that can act like a sail in strong winds. Wind pressure can place significant additional force on the gate, posts, wheels, track and automation equipment, so factors such as gate size, design, location and exposure should always be considered to help ensure safe, reliable operation and prevent premature wear or damage.
