The 50x50mm Steel Thrust Bearing Gate Hinges provide a strong, durable and reliable hinging solution for residential, commercial and industrial gate installations. Designed to fit inside 50x50mm square steel gate frames, the hinges feature an integrated bearing mechanism that supports heavy vertical loads while reducing friction and wear, allowing for smooth and consistent gate movement.

Featuring a convenient knock-in design, the hinges can be securely inserted into compatible steel hollow sections and welded into position for a strong, permanent connection. Suitable for steel tubing with wall thicknesses up to 1.6mm, the hinges provide a practical solution for pedestrian gates, security gates and heavier swing gate installations.

Supplied as a pair with top and bottom hinges, the system has a maximum gate weight capacity of up to 300kg, subject to correct installation and compatibility. For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended that the hinges are lubricated with oil every three months.

Aluminium is particularly well suited to coastal and marine environments, where exposure to salt-laden air and moisture can accelerate corrosion in traditional steel components. Unlike steel, aluminium does not develop red rust and naturally forms a protective oxide layer that helps resist corrosion, making it an excellent choice for coastal properties and other exposed outdoor installations. Regular maintenance is still recommended, particularly in areas with high salt exposure.
